Asian markets started Wednesday’s trade higher with Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index gaining over 200 points while Japan’s Nikkei 225 jumped around 280 points. 
Stocks in News Today, January 11: Stock markets are likely to have a muted start on Wednesday as the SGX Nifty – an early indicator of sentiment on the NSE Nifty50 – was almost trading flat at 17,981.5. The benchmark 30-share BSE Sensex and the broader 50-share NSE Nifty50 had ended 1 per cent lower on Tuesday, dragged down by Reliance Industries and banking stocks along with a weak trend in European markets.
Meanwhile, Asian markets started Wednesday’s trade higher with Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index gaining over 200 points while Japan’s Nikkei 225 jumped around 280 points. South Korea’s Kospi traded almost flat.

U.S. stocks ended higher on Tuesday as a sign of relief, that Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell refrained in a speech from commenting on rate policy. Unofficially, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 187.9 points, or 0.56 per cent, to 33,705.55, the S&P 500 gained 27.32 points, or 0.70 per cent, to 3,919.41, and the Nasdaq Composite added 106.98 points, or 1.01 per cent, to 10,742.63.
Dr Reddy’s: Theranica, a prescribed digital therapeutics company developing advanced neuromodulation devices for migraine and other pain conditions, has announced a strategic license and supply agreement with Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. for the exclusive marketing and distribution of FDA-approved Nerivio in India, subject to completion of the regulatory approval process in India.

Uttam Sugar Mills: The company’s board has approved increasing the daily capacity of its ethanol distillery in Barkatpur by 100 kilolitres. The distillery capacity has been increased to 250 kilolitres with a capex of Rs 56 crore. 
Sigachi Industries Ltd: The board of the company has given approval for raising funds by way of the issue of equity or convertible warrants on a preferential basis to the promoters and non-promoters. It will issue up to 1.10 crore convertible warrants to the promoters at Rs 285.30 per share.
Tata Motors: The company has completed the acquisition of Ford India’s manufacturing plant at Sanand through its subsidiary. 
PC Jeweller: The Company has recorded a domestic turnover of Rs.829.10 crore in the quarter that ended December 31, 2022.
